British Director Tony Scott Commits Suicide, Dies At 68

Top Gun Director Tony Scott died from injuries sustained Sunday when he jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, an official with the Los Angeles County Corner's Office told CNN.  Authorities used sonar equipment to find Scott's body in the port's murky waters. His body was recovered at approximately 4:30pm ...four hours after he jumped.


The death of the 68-year-old Scott is being treated as a suicide, said Lt. Joe Bale of the coroner's office. Aside from Top Gun, Scott also directed Scott directed "Beverly Hills Cop II," "Enemy of the State," and "The Taking of Pelham 123."
